The Thruxton Racing Circuit is the fastest racing circuit in Britain, as it holds the record for the course with the highest lap speeds where you could do well over 150 mph. Thruxton is a small town located west of Andover in Hampshire in the southern part of the UK. The famous track has a total length of 2.356 miles, and can hold a line up of 34 starters on the grid. You can experience the adrenalin with its oval design run in a clockwise manner with unimaginable fast bends consisting four right-handers, three left-handers and two "S" curves. You can also access the paddock, complete with a bar, café, and toilet rooms.

Originally, Thruxton Racing Circuit was an airfield used during the 1940's as a landing strip for planes engaged in the Second World War. You will find it in history that it played host to aircrafts from the Russian Air Force and the US Air Force. It mothered troops carrying gliders and missiles, which paved the way for D-Day. By the latter half of the 1940's, the airfield was considered vacant, and in 1950, motor sports started with motorbikes racing on both runways. Two years later, cars joined the race, forming the Bristol Motorcycle & Light Car Club. After a year the weary tarmac deteriorated badly. It was the motorbikes that continued to race until 1965, when development was done for an appropriate race track to be inaugurated in 1968 by the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC). The new layout made use of the perimeter roads surrounding the area, maximizing track distance and space. You can now experience the thrills of the chicane, along with 3 very challenging corners known as "The Complex": Campbell, Cobb, and Segrave. Despite the very tight corners, you could still say that Thruxton circuit still remains to be the fastest circuit in the UK.

Thruxton's fame grew when back in the days, you could watch up legendary Formula 2 drivers contest up and coming talents during Easter Mondays. Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt, and Jackie Stewart graced the circuit in the races before, and since then, Formula 1 drivers like 1993 champion Damon Hill drove demonstration runs sometime in their careers. To date, the fastest lap recorded is 1 minute, 1.96 seconds achieved by Earl Goddard in September 2000.

Today, you could watch races on the circuit by the British Touring Car Championship, British Truck Racing Association, British Formula 3, Formula Ford 1600Championship, British Superbike, Formula Renault, British GT Championship, and even the British Cycling Series.

You don't have to be a race car driver to burn rubber and scrape some asphalt on the Thruxton Racing Circuit. For a premium fee, you could personally drive supercars like the Murcielago, the Ferrari 430, the brand new Porsche 997 911 Turbo, the latest Lotus Exige, the Mercedes SLK 350, the all-time favorite Mini Cooper, and also the new MX-5 and race spec RX-8. Of course, you'll need to have a valid driver's license.
