Previously, sending flowers overseas was a complicated task, due to factors such as language differences, monetary exchange rates, different time zones and seasonal availability of the flowers. However, recent advancements in technology have made international flower delivery easier.

International flower delivery allows you to send flowers abroad to your loved ones. Some local florists have contacts with international florists who can deliver flowers internationally. However, an easier way of sending flowers overseas is through the Internet.

Photo galleries of available flowers and flower arrangements are displayed on the websites; however, since not all materials may be available at a certain time, and since the inventories of different shops vary, some florists make substitutions with comparable flowers and containers. If you do not want substitutions in your order, there are websites that give you the option to indicate that you do not allow any substitution. Although this ensures the quality of the deliveries, procuring the materials may cause delays, resulting in your orders not being delivered on time.

Payment is usually made via your credit card. Aside from the flowers, additional fees may be charged for transportation and services. Majority of international florists allow delivery within the same day or by the next day.

Most international florist services also offer other gift items, such as chocolates and candles, which you can send together with the flowers. This minimizes the cost of sending gifts overseas, as you only utilize one service rather than two separate services.

When contacting international florists, place your orders early to avoid delays. Also, make sure that you read the disclaimers on the site; due to substitutions, most flower deliveries do not look exactly like the photo.
