WHEN FIRST AID IS NOT ENOUGH
When there is a medical emergency, administering first aid is sometimes not enough. Some emergency cases are more complicated and serious, and call for immediate hospitalization where a more comprehensive medical care can be provided.
Ambulance insurance is an important part of any emergency health insurance policy. No matter how extensive your emergency medical insurance is, it will not be of any value if you cannot get to the hospital on time and receive the appropriate medical help that you need.
Most emergency health insurance companies do not provide ambulance insurance by default. It is usually optional, or a value added feature. When you or your company is looking for a health insurance provider, make sure to ask about provisions for ambulance insurance, and ask them if they can arrange for such in case it is not available.
Having ambulance insurance is better than if you were to pay for a separate ambulance service, because the fees can get very expensive. When you have ambulance insurance, you do not have to worry about emergency situations because you are covered round the clock.
PART AND PARCEL OF A GOOD MEDICAL PLAN
The truth of the matter is that ambulance insurance is part and parcel of a good emergency health insurance plan. Your medical coverage is only as effective as the immediacy of the medical attention that can be provided. What is the use of a comprehensive medical plan if you cannot get to the hospital on time because there was no provision for medical transportation services?
Maybe it is time that you look at your own medical insurance plan and start making some revisions or adjustments. There might actually be some features that are redundant or things that you do not really need. In any case, you will be better off paying some of the premiums towards ambulance insurance.
