Health Net Insurance is one of the nation's largest publicly traded health care companies, with service areas in 27 states and over six million members.

The company offers the following health care plans: individual and family, Medicare supplement, dental and vision care, and Salud con Health Net.

Individual and Family Plans

Health Net Insurance offers either short term or the regular annual coverage.

Short term or temporary health insurance packages cover you from a few days up to six months, and are under a preferred provider organization.

If you prefer longer term health coverage, you can choose from preferred provider (PPO), point-of-service (POS), or health maintenance organization (HMO) set-ups. Each set-up differs in costs of enrollment and copayments, eligibility requirements and availment procedures.

Dental and Vision Care

Aside from the medical plans, Health Net Insurance also offers dental and vision care as additional packages. These carry the same set-up options as the individual and family plans.

Medicare Supplement Plan

If you're a senior citizen, you can choose from the following types of coverage under this type: both medical and prescription, medical only, or prescription only. You can use the card to see any Medicare-accepting physician.

A Medicare supplemental plan helps you pay for charges that are not normally covered by Medicare. This plan also provides discount cards for prescriptions.

Salud Con Health Net

A unique feature of Health Net Insurance is this plan which is available only in California, to enable insured persons to use Health Net-accredited doctors and facilities within the state and across the border.

Major Geographical Divisions

There are four main divisions of Health Net in the country. Each division covers geographical areas and may differ in the types of plans that it offers. Of these divisions, California has the most complete line of plans and is the only one that offers the Salud con Health Net card.
