VOICE OVER INTERNET

A voip call center uses voice over internet protocol to make both inbound and outbound calls. Because most inbound and outbound call centers are located offshore, making long distance can drive these businesses to the ground.

In fact without voip technology, offshore call centers would not have been possible; especially outbound call centers, because the cost of making long distance calls is too expensive to make offshoring financially viable.

Voice over internet protocol makes use of the existing Internet infrastructure to allow outbound call centers to make calls anywhere in the world. All you need to set up a voip call center is a reliable, high speed Internet, a computer system, and a voip phone system.

THE HEART OF VOIP

The voip phone is the heart of the voip call center. The voip phone looks just like a high end, expensive telephone unit except that it is connected to an Ethernet instead of a phone jack. Once the voip system has been installed, there is no special operation needed to make or receive calls. For outbound call centers, you would use the voip phone as you would an ordinary handset, dialing the numbers and waiting for the other line to answer. Conversely, a voip phone system would ring when there is an incoming call on the line.

Usually, outbound call centers are focused on sales and marketing. Inbound call centers on the other hand are more about after sales support such as customer service and technical assistance. Depending on the account they handle, inbound call centers also deal with general inquires, complaints and other types of customer issues that needs resolution.

Voip call center is one of those industries that modern communications technology has made possible. Down the road we can see more innovations that would make our world smaller and even more connected.
