Delta Reservations are Now Online

While making trip reservations over the phone is already convenient, there is now an even faster and reliable way. The online Delta reservation site makes it possible for you to access other information, such as the cheapest airfares and seating availabilities.

With a few clicks of your mouse, you can see all available flights for your desired destination. You can also see the seating diagram so that you can easily choose the seat you prefer.

How the Delta Reservation System Works

The online Delta reservation procedures are quite easy to follow. The site already gives you valuable tips and information on how to book a flight.

When you go the site, you can click on the reservations first. You will click on one of three choices of flights: one-way, round-trip or multi-city. Under each tab, you will be asked to fill out some information such as desired date, destination, number of people who are booking the flight, and fare class. It is also important to specify whether you want the ticket to be refundable or not. Your mailing and billing addresses must also be the same.

The Delta reservation site also provides a listing of more than sixty countries that can honor online bookings. Except for a few countries, no booking fees are charged to you.

You can also make seating selections directly. Delta reservations also provides special seating arrangements for the disabled.

Once you have made a reservation, you can pay online using any one of the eight major credit cards they accept. You may also use a debit card, subject to credit limitations set by your bank. You do need to present your actual credit card and one identification card when you go to the ticketing counter, on or before departure date. For some destinations, you may need to have your card and identity verified within five to ten days of your travel date.

Since your Delta reservation is electronic, you will be receiving a receipt instead of an actual flight ticket. You won't need to worry about your ticket getting lost, stolen or destroyed. On the day of your departure, you just need to go to the airport counter to claim your ticket and boarding pass.

Limitations of Online Delta Reservations

Depending on your destination, some restrictions do apply. Some special promotions or discounts such as for bereavement, senior or military fares may not be available through the Delta reservation site.

You will also need to follow specific passport and visa requirements, depending upon the country you will be traveling to.
