As our country experiences extreme variances in temperature, central heating maintenance is fundamental to every residence and building facility to control ambient temperatures and make the place more habitable.

Central heating maintenance is especially important to places with severe winter. If a central heating breakdown takes place, the consequent exposure to extreme cold can be potentially life-threatening. Central heat and air units are elements of central heating maintenance and must be kept in tip-top shape to prevent central heating breakdown.

TYPES OF HEATING SYSTEMS

There are two main types of heating systems available: the central-ducted air system and the radiant heating system. In the central-ducted system, the central heat and air units produce heated air that is released through a system of ducts or air vents distributed in strategic places all throughout the house. This is the most common choice of heating system for the modern home.

The radiant heating system on the other hand makes use of water, steam, electric cables, or foil as a heating medium. The heat generated by the hot water, steam, or foil is then distributed by a pipe system often placed under the floor of the house. Because of the delivery method used, this system provides a more even and comfortable heat and air service.

If you are concerned with central heating breakdown, the radiant heating system may be the system for you because it employs very few mechanical or moveable parts. As a result, this particular system requires very little central heating maintenance and is less prone to central heating breakdown.

In homes and building, heating and air conditioners are often integrated. Because the main machine is unwieldy, the primary heater or cooler is placed in a hidden location far from human traffic. You control the level of heat through a manual or automatic thermostat that is conveniently placed within your reach.
