The use of teleconference phone systems has changed the way company executives and businessmen hold meetings and arrive at critical business choices. By making use of teleconferencing services, people can now conduct group discussions over a single phone line.

With the use of a teleconference phone, important company policies and decisions can be deliberated and resolved without necessarily having all the people gathered in one room. Other executives can even be oceans away on a business trip and still be able to participate in the company’s decision making process.

The principle behind a teleconference phone is fairly straightforward. All it does is simply allows a multi-party lines to converge in a single telephone call. Instead of being limited to only two parties engaging in a phone conversation, teleconferencing permits more than three line engagements. The actual number of participants in a teleconference bridge is limited by the level of sophistication of the teleconferencing software used.

A teleconference phone can be equipped with a basic audio teleconferencing set-up, or it can be assigned to handle video teleconferencing equipment as well. Video teleconferencing equipment allows you to see the person you are talking with. Having video teleconferencing equipment also provides you with the means to conduct long-distance product presentations, sales conferences, and other functions that require some form of presentation or another.

Teleconferencing services are provided by your phone service company. Most of the time, basic teleconferencing services do not require any change in architecture; all you have to do is apply for the service and once the teleconferencing services have been activated, it will be available without any additional equipment installation.

However if your company requires more advanced teleconferencing services, then it will be a different case altogether. The phone service company will assess your existing architecture and decide if it can handle the complex services you require; if not then the modifications must be done first before you can avail of their teleconferencing services.
