Microscopes are important tools that are used in optical researches and analysis. The atomic force microscope is among the various types of microscopes that can be used to increase the level of image quality. This type of equipment uses materials that can discern minute particles invisible to the naked eye. It can be used in crucial image analyses especially in the fields of scientific exploration.

An atomic force microscope has a miniature probe on the tip of its surface to scan the upper surface of a certain specimen. Unlike conventional microscopes, this device can detect small variations in the surface of an object under its lenses. The image that will be brought to the eyepiece will be much clearer and precise because of the certain force held on the tip of the microscope. This force on the atomic particles of the lens then deflects light images which can probe much deeper on the specimen. This process provides a more realistic image of a small particle into a large scale size.

One of the possible reasons in the creation of the atomic force microscope could have come from the concept of nanotechnology. This technology utilizes the principle of atomic usage in many particles. Apart from the field of microscopy, another device that uses atomic force is the atomic clock radio. The atomic element parts of this equipment drive the miniature devices on the clock which then runs it to tell time. Like in a microscope, it can also tell accurate and energy efficient time intervals.

Microscopes have been widely used in many analysis driven experiments. Its function to increase the visual size of an object has been very useful in biology, chemistry and physics. The invention of the atomic force microscope has been a good improvement in discovering the invisible and mysterious world of small particles.
