Before you can completely appreciate the functions of a high speed digital video camera, you must first know what its features are. Basically, if a camera has a high speed video function, it would allow the users to analyze every single small movement because a high speed digital video camera can provide a slowed down motion of a high speed event. This feature traditionally has been just available for the film camera but it had to undergo several complicated processes first. A film has to be analyzed frame by frame into the projector. This is a very slow process that can take up to several days to complete.

But with the introduction of the high speed digital video camera, processing time has been hastened and it is now possible to combine several features into a single high speed camera. For example, a high speed digital video camera can record a scene with no delay and you can view it immediately. Just to demonstrate how helpful high speed cameras have been, remember how recording in the traditional high speed camera have been wherein a user can capture only around twenty five to thirty images per second compared to the high speed cameras wherein a user can capture up to a thousand images or now better known as frames in one second.

Some more advanced digital cameras can capture up to thirty three thousand frames per second because of the use of its image sensor in its subsection. But all these images would require a large amount of memory space and this requirement can be met through the use of internal memory, and if that memory space is not enough, external memory can be provided. And as if all these advantages are not enough, high speed digital video cameras also allows for greater flexibility because it can connect to the necessary equipments that will allow the images to be analyzed and processed.
