The digital asset management systems (DAMS) allow the storage, retrieval and the reuse of digital objects within an organization. Compared to document management and content management systems, digital asset management systems have more focus on multimedia such as photos, audio and video. These digital asset management systems are also used for acquisition, media conversion, access rights, backup, usage tracking and management rights. DAMS can also be used with third party creation systems and digital editors.
