Credit reports are essential to anybody. You need to secure your copy every so often to assess your credit history, and see if you are still looking good to your creditors.
In the old days, getting a credit report may be considered a chore: you have to write a request, or fill out a form, to get it. This will take your about 15 days, or more, to receive a copy of your credit report-and it will also still depend on the volume of requests for credit reports at the time. While this system still exists now, there is also the better, easier way to get instant credit reports: through the internet.
The Web Affair
When you need instant credit reports, you will need to log on to a credit reporting website. The government has a central website for requesting instant credit reports from three major credit reporting companies in the country. Requesting for your first copy is always free, and you can request for the free copy of your instant credit report annually.
You will be asked to fill out a form online. Oftentimes, you will be asked about sensitive information that will verify your identity and help keep your credit report accurate.
After filling out the form, the system will fetch your credit information. The information on your instant credit report will be based on the ones provided by your creditor so discrepancies are likely from your creditors’ end.
Print It!
It is advisable that you print your copy of the credit report immediately as it will only be available online for about a month. You can reproduce your copy to get instant loans like instant car loans or instant unsecured loans. After the allotted period, the system will automatically delete your credit report-and you will have to pay for your next copy.
