BY THE CLOCK
Clocking systems are so ingrained in our lives that it is almost impossible to imagine how our world would operate without it.
Clocking systems put a semblance of order and control in our lives. It is by the movement of these clocking systems that we measure our value as productive citizens of the society that we are members of.
Clocking systems are especially important in the workplace. Without clocking machines, there will be no means by which employers can gauge an individual employee’s performance in terms of attendance. Attendance is indeed very crucial; in fact it is the single greatest variable that determines an employee’s productivity and one’s consequent value to a company.
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
Clocking in and out of the workplace is part and parcel of your daily routine as an employee. Clocking in is the first thing you do when you arrive for work and clocking out is the last thing you must accomplish before you go home.
The primary purpose of clocking in and out is to provide a systematic basis for an employee’s compensation every given payday. Clocking in and out is a standard procedure that disciplines you as an employee, making you conscious of time and its importance to you as a contributing member of a business.
When you are measured by time, you make a deliberate effort to do good by it. Clocking in and out is like working with a deadline; all your energies are focused on accomplishing as much as you can given the limited time with which you can do what needs to be done and then some.
While clocking in and out is by no means the only measure of a man, it is certainly one of the better means to do so. Imagine a society that has no regard for time and you have a society of people that has no respect for one another’s worth.
