Ever since Pantages Theatre Hollywood was built back in 1930 for about $1.25 million, it has already been regarded as one of the most beautiful theatres in town.

With a seating capacity of about 2,700, Pantages is a showcase in itself. When you buy a ticket to see a show at the Pantages, you get more than your money's worth not only with the quality shows you can watch, but also with the experience of seeing and feeling the theatre's spectacular features. The theatre's lavish art deco lobby has plush carpeting and ornate interior with shining gold leaf. In addition, you also get the treat of being able to spot many famous Hollywood celebrities who often patronize the theatre during its shows.

Memorable moments such as the Academy Awards have been held in Pantages since 1950, including the time when the event was first televised. The Emmy Awards were also held here until the year 1977, when the Emmys moved to Pasadena.

Since 1977, Pantages staged many famous Broadway-type musicals and dramatic plays such as "Sound of Music", "Guys and Dolls", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Coat", "Phantom of the Opera" and many more, all of which were star-studded and big hits.

Pantages also houses some memorable TV and entertainment awards specials, which featured big Hollywood names. The Walt Disney Company also used the Pantages for its smash-hit stage version of "The Lion King" at the Pantages, which raked in a whopping $142 million in ticket sales. Just for this production, the theatre had to spend $10 million for a massive facelift.

Pantages was also used as background for the movie "The Bodyguard" and for Michael Jackson's music video "You are not Alone".

It is now very convenient to buy your Pantages ticket online.

To get to the Pantages Theatre, just look for the corner of Hollywood and Vine Streets, at the north side of Hollywood Boulevard.
