Fake lawns, also known as artificial lawns, or synthetic lawns, are made from fake grass, which was created for individuals who wanted to run and play on it even during unpleasant weather. Fake lawns were initially used for sporting arenas where a large field of grass was difficult to maintain; however, its use has now increased in popularity and synthetic grass is now more widely seen in homes, hotels, commercial landscaping and other applications. Some countries even utilize synthetic lawns for children’s outdoor play areas, or even to create golfing greens.

The fake lawns that were initially produced could be utilized for a number of decades; however, it was not practical to use, as individuals could feel the asphalt underneath its surface. Today, the artificial grass that is used on fake lawns are now filled with parts of sand and rubber bits to provide shock absorption for the feet, appear like real grass and does not retain any heat within its surfaces during hot days.

Fake lawns are easy to maintain because fake lawns only need to be rubbed down and disinfected monthly, instead of using water it to keep the grass green. Fake lawns are ideal for use in areas where there is little light and where water conservation becomes an issue. Where real grass surface is required, using synthetic lawns eliminates the need to use pesticides, having to cut or mow the grass and having replace areas where dried grass have appeared.

Spending long periods of time playing on fake lawns can cause turf toe, which is a medical condition that affects a person’s feet. Additionally, some sporting fields are produced using old car tires that contain certain chemicals that can leak into your water system and produces an unpleasant smell.

Synthetic grass that can be used to produce beautiful lawns is readily available in hardware, home improvement stores, or even stores that sell plants.
