For a long time synthetic lawns received considerable resistance from home owners who believed that only natural grass was good enough for their front and back yards.

While there is still no replacing natural grass for its beauty, modern technology has allowed companies to produce artificial lawns that looks almost as good as the real ones, with some other decided advantages.

SYNTHETIC BENEFITS

Synthetic or artificial lawns are very low maintenance compared with natural lawns. Synthetic lawns are not real plants; they do not require any watering and mowing. While artificial lawns still call for the occasional up keep, the maintenance required is not as tedious as what natural grass requires. Synthetic lawns only need to be fluffed, cleaned and disinfected about three or four time a year. Of course, you will have to do some regular sweeping to clean the surface of debris.

These artificial lawns are also porous so that is water is absorbed and properly drained. There is no need to worry when it rains or snows.

Another benefit of having synthetic lawns is that your children can run and play as they wish without having to worry about grass stains on their play clothes. Synthetic lawns are usually made of rubber to simulate the soft underfoot that natural grass provides. Children can play on them without any fear of hard falls and concussions.

AS GOOD AS IT GETS

These synthetic lawns are sturdy and designed for the long haul, usually lasting from fifteen to twenty years depending on the traffic load.

Synthetic lawns are by no means better than replace natural grass, nor are they intended to supplant the real thing. What these artificial lawns provide is an option. With synthetic lawns, you can have that green yard that you want, even if you are too busy to take care of the real thing.
