A cottage futon is a thin mattress made of a pad of cotton laid simply on the floor. It may also be placed on a foldable or raised frame. A mattress is a part of the bed made of a big pad composed of resilient materials. It may even have coiled springs within the pad. Rustic places like cottages in the countryside have a cottage futon or a futon mattress.

A quick glance at a futon store will tell you some of the futon parts and how they are made. You may find a cottage futon there and purchase one if you want to furnish your home with a rustic or cottage feel.

Sometimes, people travel for miles just to reach a quaint looking cottage and lounge on its cottage futon. While lounging, all the simple luxuries of life are offered. Be it the chirping of the birds, the rustling of the leaves, the blowing of the natural wind, an undisturbed sleep on a cottage futon in the countryside will offer these and some more. You may even wake up and still feel all these simple luxuries while daydreaming away and still lying on your cottage futon. It really feels like lying on a natural futon.

Have breakfast in bed on your cottage futon or better yet, have somebody specially deliver your breakfast in bed. You won’t even have to bother to stand up and prepare your food. Don’t bother taking a bath or even changing your clothes. Grab a book and transport yourself into a distant time while lounging on your cottage futon. You will never notice how time had passed and you will even wonder at how fast it passed. Eventually, you would even wish you live in a cottage and all the simplicities brought about by just lying on a cottage futon.
