Everyone knows that New York has it all. But did you know that it has some of the most prominent cosmetic dentist new york in the world and that one of the most sought after procedures is teeth whitening new york?

You can use a toothpaste whitener – but it’s nothing compared to what can be achieved with teeth whitening new york. It’s almost like having new teeth.

You can make a choice between in-office and at-home bleaching.

You can whiten your smile not only with teeth whitening new york but also with veneers new york.

Teeth Whitening
After years of smoking and drinking tea, coffee or wine, your teeth have probably lost their brilliance.

But the good news is that your new dentist can restore your bright smile in different ways:
• Composite bonding
• Porcelain veneers
• Implants
• Whitening (bleaching).

Whitening is the least invasive and easiest way and is effective in almost every case. This procedure is easy to use, safe and quite affordable. That is why it’s so popular.

How does it work?
A bleaching gel (usually carbamide peroxide or hydrogen) is used. These become oxygen molecules which enter the dentin and enamel and dissolve the stains. As the stains are broken down, more light can pass through your teeth. This makes them seem whiter.

There are different grades of stains:
• Stains that are slightly brown or yellow get the best results
• Blue-gray to dark brown stains are the most difficult.

The more difficult stains are usually caused by the medications you take in your formative years. It takes 3 weeks to see any results and up to 6 months for the complete process. But you can see results within an hour, the next day or maybe after 3 or 4 days. It depends on what bleaching gel is used.

The complete result can be seen in just a week or a couple of months – depending on the degree of staining.

The procedure can even last for 3 years or longer – this depends on your own habits.

There are two types of procedures:
In-office
The dentist puts a protective material onto your lips and gums – thus isolating your teeth. Then a bleaching solution is applied to your teeth. A laser, or high-intensity light, which activates the bleach, is shone on your teeth. The bleach then releases oxygen molecules which clear up the stains. This treatment lasts between 45 minutes and a couple of hours.

You can use this treatment on a single tooth as well. Special care has to be taken if you have root canal surgery.

Take-home
This happens in the comfort of your own home, but is indirectly supervised by the dentist. The dentist takes an impression of your teeth and creates a mouthpiece. This mouthpiece allows you to apply the bleach to your teeth and still protect your mouth.

This procedure is not as strong as the in-office procedure and takes one to three weeks for maximum results.
