LEAD: WHERE TO GO FROM HERE
Telemarketing leads are highly specific list of businesses and private individuals that may have use or interest in the products and services that you are offering.
The term telemarketing leads is a variation on the lead as used by journalists and police investigators. Lead means a person, place, or thing that may have valid information to advance the case that you are investigating. In other words, the lead leads you to what may possibly be a break through in the case.
Telemarketing firms are provided telemarketing leads which they call day in and day out in the hopes of being able to convert some of these leads into actual buying clients.
Some telemarketing firms are outsourced, meaning they are hired by another company to handle their sales and marketing operations. While others are in house, where the telemarketing services and operations are owned and operated by the same mother company.
LEAD DUPLICATION
Either way, both types of telemarketing services need telemarketing leads from which they will base the numbers to call. Usually these leads run in the thousands, where they are divided and distributed randomly to your telemarketing agents.
In some instances, duplication of leads happens. This is when one lead is assigned to multiple agents. This is actually normal and is part of the company’s strategy to ensure that no leads are being passed up and given up on very hastily. In this case, the first agent to make some progress will earn ownership of the lead.
Company’s who sell telemarketing leads create a list of names that are targeted to your company’s products and services. As such, these telemarketing lists vary depending on what type of company is buying them.
Telemarketing leads are useful in so far as being able to know where to start when making telemarketing calls. However, any lead is only as good as the agents handling them.
