A GOOD DEAL

Rebates are one way of enticing customers to make purchases. Rebates are discount made against the purchase price, and they may come either as an upfront discount or a return on a specific amount from the payment you have made. Examples are automobile rebates and computer rebates.

The most common forms of rebates and one that all of us must have probably seen are the coupons that we find in magazines and newspapers. Nowadays, we can also find them in on the Internet, as we surf the web.

Because computers are very popular items, most manufacturers and distributors are offering computer rebates to attract more customers and increase their sales. Computer rebates can work for separate computer components or may only be applicable for an entire purchase of a computer system.

There are some electronic shops that give computer rebates on top of the discounts being offered by the manufacturers. Before making a purchase, make sure to ask the store if they will honor the computer rebates that you have aside from the computer rebates that they are offering in house.

MARKETING PLOY

Of course bear in mind that computer rebates are a marketing ploy, made to increase company profits. As such, be wary of those offers that seem too good to be true, because most of the time they are. It will also be helpful if you know how these computer rebates work.

There are computer rebates that will not give you the entire information upfront. Sometimes, these computer rebates will only be effective if you bundle your purchase with other items or if you meet a certain level of payment amount. In these cases, you will walk out of the store buying more than what you originally planned, just so you can save a few bucks on computer rebates.

So before making buying anything make sure that the computer rebates you are using will not cost you more at the end.
