Cobra detector is one of the most reliable radar detectors that come with full color image displays. Cobra Electronics Corporation, the manufacturer of cobra detectors, is a principal manufacturer of navigation and communication products and has lately even expanded to the production of GPS and other mobile navigation electronics.

Cobra detector models vary in their range of coverage. Naturally, you should expect to pay more for cobra detectors with higher coverage and extensive features. Many cobra detector models have voice alerts and built-in 8-point compass.

Another cobra that delves not into radar detectors but health and medical insurance is COBRA or Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985. The federal act was created to protect an employee’s health insurance policies and medical coverage in the event that his/her employment was terminated or he/she resigned from a job.

Under the act, a former or retired employee is entitled to continue his/her cobra health insurance at his/her expense for a minimum of 18 months after termination of employment provided that the cause of termination is not gross misconduct.

There are 3 things to consider for you to benefit from your cobra insurance: the plan coverage, the qualified beneficiaries, and the qualifying events.

The cobra plan coverage depends on the number of employees in a company. Small businesses with less than 25 employees are not covered by the cobra law and part time employees as counted only as a fraction in the employee head count.

The qualified beneficiaries of cobra insurance can include the retired or terminated employee, the employee’s wife, and the employee’s dependent children.

In the meantime, qualifying events determine who the qualified beneficiaries will be and the amount of time cobra health insurance will be offered to the former employee.

Cobra medical insurance usually charges higher than other medical insurance in the market and should serve only as a temporary health insurance rather than a permanent one. Also, cobra health coverage may no longer be effective if you move to a residence outside your plan’s coverage area.
