Conqueror envelopes are just one of several kinds of envelopes available today. The type and style of an envelope is determined by how its parts are created. An envelope has these basic parts:

•Front side or the face
•Bottom or back flap
•Side flaps
•Seal flap
•Adhesive

The two basic envelope styles are based on where the seal flap is located. An Open End style has the opening and the seal flap on the shorter side of the envelope. An Open Side envelope opens and has the flap on the longer side. These envelopes are used for fast and easy insertion.
Envelopes also come with different flap shapes such as pointed, commercial, wallet and square flaps.

Conqueror envelopes are Open Side envelopes with square flaps. They can either have a window or a non-window face. A window is an area cut out on the face of an envelope to reveal a section of the content such as an address or name. It can be an open window or covered with a translucent plastic. Window envelopes are commonly used for billing statements and invoices.

Envelope types are also based on its application. A common envelope is the Announcement Envelope, so called because they are used for announcements, invitations and cards. For more formal announcements, the Baronial Envelope is used.

For sending booklets, catalogs, brochures, and other multi-page mailers, Booklet Envelopes and Catalog Envelopes are used. A booklet envelope is an open side style envelope with side seams. A catalog envelope is usually an open end envelope with center seams. It’s ideal for heavier mailings.

There are also Square Envelopes for specialty mailings like advertising materials.

The most widely used envelopes are Commercial Envelopes. Conqueror Envelopes is an example. They are sometimes called Standard Envelopes. These are open side envelopes that can have commercial, pointed or square flaps. These envelopes can be used for business or personal correspondence as letterheads or stationery.
