BENEFITS OF STEAM

Steam is a beneficial thing. We dry clean our precious clothes using steam cleaner, steamed food is healthier and the taste is purer and fresher because of the absence of additives that can mask the true flavor of the food.

However, steam is not only useful for cooking and cleaning, they are also beneficial to one’s health.

Steam rooms are popular in spas and other health and wellness centers. Steam rooms are effective for detoxifying the entire body as the heat and humidity of steam room encourage the body to sweat and get rid of its toxins through the skin. The more popular sauna bath is actually just another name for steam rooms.

Aside from its detoxifying effects, the use of steam rooms can also bring about minor weight loss due to the loss of water in your body. This can be helpful if you have a party that you are attending a few hours later after the sauna because the water weight you have lost can last for a couple of hours. However, you should be careful and make sure to replenish your fluids and electrolytes or else you run the risk of dehydration because of all the fluids you have lost as sweat.

SWEAT AT HOME

You do not necessarily have to go to the gym or health center to use the steam rooms; you can have one made in your house if you have the extra space for it. However, be prepared to pay more for your utilities because you use more water and gas to produce the steam.

You should always be careful when leaving the steam room. Aside from the risk of dehydration, you may also experience slight dizziness because of a slightly depressed level of blood pressure as a result of the loss of water as well. The best way to avoid this is keep yourself hydrated by drinking fluids the entire time that you are inside steam rooms.
