Cable track lighting is a series of light fixtures placed on a track or certain path to save space, add beauty to an area, or provide easy access to electrical wirings. The cable track lighting can be seen on the ceiling or on wall.

Cable track lighting saves space because the electrical energy will come from the track and the track will then be the one to distribute the electrical energy to the light fixtures attached to it. There is no need to put so many electrical outlets when cable track lighting is attached.

Cable track lighting adds beauty to an area because it avoids all the unnecessary electrical wirings which would otherwise be exposed when a track is not used. Since the lighting fixtures get its source from the track, the power outlet from the track can be made as the main source eliminating other small sources.

Aside from cable track lighting, other light fixtures can also be utilized. Some of these examples include the bug track, cubicle track, and flexible track. The bug track is usually used outside the building premises and will usually not attract bugs as opposed to other lighting fixtures used outdoors.

Cable track lighting has different designs. Most of the designs of cable track lighting use a transformer for every lighting fixture to convert the high voltage it gets from the power source to a lower voltage. This cable track lighting operates on a straight track or path. Usually, when one part of a fixture of the cable track lighting is defective, you can easily look for a replacement since these fixtures are used by many.

The more modern cable track lighting uses only one transformer and uses low voltage too. This makes the cable track lighting less susceptible to electric shocks, hence, making the cable track lighting safer to use.
