IT change management is the change in the infrastructure technology employed in management of an organization. It can involve a shift in the framework of technology used or a change in the sourcing of employment of infrastructure technology.

Implementing IT change management can cause disturbance in the organization particularly on perceptions and impact to employees. It can lead to downsizing of employees to address lesser human resource requirement of IT change management. The following actions can help cushion the impact of IT change management to the organization.

1. Avoid unnecessary rumors circulating about the effect of IT change management to the entire organization. Do not hide information related to IT change management and its expected impact to employees. Update employees regularly on the status of IT change management so that they can make plans on how to address its effect and work on it before the actual changes set in.

4. Offer opportunity for affected employees through a placement service arrangement program to help affected employees find employment opportunities within the organization.

5. You must plan carefully to prepare the entire organization on the impact of IT change management in its operation. Include the short and long term budget requirement for its implementation.
