( Financial )

Many corporations are organized in such a way that most of the work is left to those lower in the corporate ladder, while major corporate decisions are left to those on the higher rungs. As a result, requests for purchases of office materials have to be coursed through several departments to be approved, coursed through several departments more to gather finances, and finally, coursed through another group of departments to finally be made.

This system can be effective in saving money, and making sure that company savings are well spent. However, the bureaucratic nature of the system can be disadvantageous when emergency purchases have to be made. A computer can suddenly break down, keeping important reports from being written, or important accounts from being completed, continued, or closed. Reports need to be printed, but ink for printing can suddenly run out. Employees on a business trip may need to close deals at the last minute.

The Corporate Card

In such emergency cases, a corporate card can be effective, and can save a company time. Corporate business cards can allow emergency repairs or purchases to be made, whether at brick and mortar stores, or through online merchants – and all without waiting for cash to come from your company. A corporate card can also be used abroad, and can keep your employees from carrying large amounts of cash.

A credit card company can also offer their corporate card packages with various rewards. These can include airline miles, which you can use for employee travel; and discounts on purchases made at credit card partner stores, which you can use when your company needs to buy emergency office supplies. The corporate card will also have a higher credit limit, and the annual fee may be waived if you are in good credit standing.

Corporate Business Cards

The corporate card should be used only for company-related purchases, and all receipts should be presented to the finance department for cross-checking. If you impose strict rules on the use of the company’s corporate card, then you can keep employees from abusing it.

Corporate business cards can be expensive to maintain, but the rewards are great. If you are interested in a corporate card for your company’s needs, then consult with your local credit card company on what packages are available. A corporate card can save you time and money, and can allow you to meet emergency needs with confidence.
