Uses of Corporate Business Cards

Whether you represent a credit card company or a hotel chain, it is a good idea to have your own corporate business card. It is a small cardboard or plastic-coated card which contains your name, job title, company name and address, and contact information. Some corporate business cards also contain pictures of the product, the company logo, or short slogans. Thus, corporate business cards do more than just tell prospects who you are, they advertise your business as well.

What Makes a Good Corporate Business Card?

Your corporate business card should contain accurate information that is easily readable. Since the main objective in giving out your business card is to establish new business contacts and relationships, you should place as much contact information on your card as possible. Have at least one office phone number and one residential number on the card, plus a mobile number and your business e-mail address. Your company address should also be complete. Also include your web address, if there is one available.

While colors and elaborate texture may brighten your business card and make it more attractive, always consider the costs first. A simple one or two-color design may be sufficient, as long as you have included all the important information.

Where to Obtain Corporate Business Cards

There are countless sources of corporate business cards available. You can get your corporate business cards either through regular printing companies or through online sources.

If yours is only a start-up or small enterprise, you might also consider just printing your own corporate business cards at home using a multi-purpose type of printing machine with high resolution image printing.

For larger volumes, printing your own corporate business cards at home may turn out to be very expensive because of the costs of ink and paper. In such cases, you may be better off hiring a printing company to do the job.

You can easily find a printer through the yellow pages, or through online sources. Online sources are easier to contact and you can get lower printing prices, because online sites have lower overhead costs. There is a minimum order quantity, and you can choose the material, size, shape, type of ink, colors, and lay-out.

In both cases, you need to submit your business card design, either by providing a hard copy, a digitalized or CD copy, or e-mail attachment. You can also ask the printer to design the cards for you, but you have to pay extra charges for it.
