What we do know about robots is that they move. If they are designed to walk, they will walk. But to most of us, we are still quite ignorant about their industrial usefulness. Robotic industry designs their robots to perform tasks. They are useful in terms of productivity, speed, and efficiency.

Robotic systems are a combination of three things; the raw materials used to create them, the hardware used that is compliant to be interfaced with the computer and the program or software installed on them to follow specific commands. Robotic industry creates motions and sequences for the tasks. These robots are interfaced with the robotic controller using a computer.

Industrial robotics is developed with different sizes, shapes, and configurations. Range in sizes depends mostly on the size the robotic developer wants. Shapes are also different. They are specifically shaped to carry out the task in a more useful manner. Developers configure the programs to carry out specific tasks.

Industrial Robots carry out tasks that humans can do. Humans cannot perform these tasks continuously, therefore, giving the robotic industry the incentive to create industrial robots to mimic a specific human activity non-stop. Because humans need rest and have needs, industrial robots are the ideal replacements to carry out jobs.

There are two types of robot controllers. One is controlled by sensors and the other is controlled by a mechanical system with switches to turn them on or off. Industries still need humans to control these robots.

Using industrial robots has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are cost efficiency, productivity, quality control, and continuous labor. The disadvantages are it decreases employment. Although robots are still controlled by humans, they can mimic human productivity with efficiency therefore making humans seem less productive. Robots can perform more tasks so industries would need lesser workers for job placements. Another disadvantage is when it malfunctions; it will stunt the industry especially if the industry depended too much on its usefulness.
