If your current home has no linen closet, or you still have not considered installing a linen storage, then perhaps it is time for you to start planning where to place a linen closet. If properly organized, linen closets can usually hold all your in-season and out-of-season beddings, towels of all sizes, curtains (window and shower), bedspreads and linens, and many more. You can place a linen closet close to your bedroom or in the bathroom.

Since bathrooms do not have the luxury of space, you have to make sure that your linen closet is well-planned and well-organized to maximize the limited space. You will need to measure your bathroom space and even think of the items that you will store inside the closet even before you make a purchase or build your own.

There are at least three sections of a linen closet: the top section, the middle or eye-level section, and the bottom section. The top section should be able to hold the items that you do not usually use. The bottom is usually where you put the bulky or large items, such as your beddings. The eye-level section is where your every day items are placed for easy access.

A typical linen closet has a depth that ranges between twelve and eighteen inches, and its width depends on what you want or your available space. But the most common width is about three to four feet.

For better organization, you can label each of the shelves in your linen closet. This way, household members who utilize the item would know its exact location in the closet. You may also want to keep together the sets of your beddings, such as the top and bottom sheets along with their pillowcases, so that it would be easy for you to get and change your sheets.
