There are many kinds of low voltage light bulbs. We use them at home, at the office, and on the streets. We see low voltage light bulbs wherever we go and wherever there is light. Some lighting that use low voltage light bulbs are incandescent, halogen, fluorescent, and light emitting diode (LED). The different low voltage light bulbs also range in shapes, sizes, wattage, and color.

Incandescent light bulbs are used in household and commercial lighting. They can be used as portable lamps. They are also widely used as heating lights for poultry. However, they are fast becoming obsolete due to the replacements of LED light bulbs. Light bulbs in chandeliers are incandescent light bulbs.

Halogen lamps also use low voltage light bulbs. However, it is quite dangerous to use this kind of lighting because it is more risky to burns and fire. Occasionally, halogen lamps may explode. Most of the time, they are sealed with additional layer of glass for risk prevention.

Fluorescent lamps are usually used in houses and offices because they have a higher efficacy than most other lamps. With the same amount of light they produce, they only use about one fourth of the energy of incandescent lamps. We mostly see them as linear and round lamps. They are the most practical light bulbs to use due to its low power consumption.

LED lamps are being used in flashlights and as holiday lighting. LED lamps have low power consumption and low heat generation. They may be more efficient and more durable than incandescent lamps. LED light bulbs are used in traffic lights, automotive lights, low voltage landscape lighting, stage, and museum lightings. LED light bulbs are somewhat permanent once you put them into your ceiling. They are not like incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs that can be replaced easily. So, it may not be practical to use them as household lighting.

A halogen track light may be the most versatile lighting you may have. It can be swiveled and be rotated in its position in any direction you want as long as it can reach the location of your lighting choice. If it doesn’t, it is easy to move it to another location.
