Track light fixtures may only seem to be difficult to assemble and install, but they are truly ideal for home, studio rooms, and office lighting. Track light fixtures may come in low voltage track lighting systems or in high voltage, wherein voltage relays may be required. Low voltage landscape lighting only needs low voltage light bulbs and low voltage cabling. These are easy to find and buy, and are likewise easy to install.

Track light fixtures come in many styles and types, one of the most popular of which is the halogen track light. A Halogen track light, as a standard, has a maximum voltage of 250 volts. It has an electrified track, a sleek powder paint finish, and an assymetrical design that provides for an easier connection of modules. Halogen track light fixtures usually have three circuits. As much as possible, each circuit has its own switching. These track lights are ideal for ceiling and wall mountings. Other models of halogen track light fixtures are the theatrical track lights that run on 12 volts, Line Voltage halogen lights, and those models that come with accessories such as UV Filters, lenses, louvers, color filters, and holders. Track light accessories are relatively cheap. UV Filters for low voltage track lighting costs around 18 dollars. Lenses cost as low as six dollars, louvers for five dollars, color filters for seven dollars, and holders for only five dollars.

While most low voltage track light fixtures already have a built-in electronic transformer that takes care of voltage controls, the line voltage track lights no longer require these transformers. Because a transformer is necessary for this particular track light fixture, different styles and sets of light bulbs may be utilized.

Depending on the model of the track light fixtures you wish to buy, the prices range from a measly 30 dollars to as much as 200 dollars.
