History of the Florida Marlins Baseball Team

The Florida Marlins is a professional baseball team with its headquarters in Miami, Florida. It is part of the eastern division of the National League. The team was formed back in 1993. The Marlins team plays its home games in the Dolphins Stadium.

The team's owner had bought the franchise in 1991, after which he renovated the Dolphins Stadium to be a multi-sport facility that can accommodate either a football or baseball game. In 1994, he also bought the Miami Dolphins football team.

The team won its first game in April 1993, and went on to win their first World Series title in 1997. But in 1998, the team was dismantled following alleged huge financial losses. Team members were traded to other teams, and the Marlins suffered its worst season in 1999.

Fortunately, the team had first pick of the draft in 2000, and with an impressive line-up, they came in fourth place.

The team was sold in 2001 and came under new management. It also experienced many ups and downs in 2002 due to trades and legal issues. But with some strategic trades, the team was up again in 2003, and eventually won their second World Series title over the more favored Yankees.
