Muscle stimulators are devices generally used in clinical settings to firm and tone muscles and sometimes even for weight loss. However, before you go ahead and purchase your own set of muscle stimulators, remember that this is a government regulated device and there are very few if no approved muscle stimulators in the market with proven claims. That being said, the use of muscle stimulators is still a try at your own risk solution.

Currently, muscle stimulators are proven to strengthen, tone or firm muscles in a temporary basis. They're not yet proven to be effective in weight lose and in reducing girth. This is what the government approved so far so you have to be careful in dealing with salespeople promoting muscle stimulators. This device is very different from your ordinary muscle pump.

You must also consider that there are numerous cases reported when the use of muscle stimulators caused discomfort. Some even reported getting shocks and burns. Also, bruising, skin irritation were reported with the use of muscle stimulators. If you have implants or pacemakers, think twice before you try using muscle stimulators as they have been reported to sometimes interfere with the implants.

It is always a safer bet to use products that have been tested and passed the strict regulation of the government. Although some would argue that not all unapproved muscle stimulators are dangerous, you don't want to risk your safety for just a few dollars savings. Your safety should be your priority when deciding to purchase muscle stimulators.

Also, there are quite a number of government approved muscle stimulators that you can choose from. Why risk your safety for untested or unapproved products? The savings you can get in using non-government approved muscle stimulators may not be worth it if you get electrocuted or burned.
