The ground fault circuit breaker is a switch which dominates the electrical system or electrical power system by altering power on or off in specifications of operational load or extreme load, primarily to keep the electrical system on which it is connected. There are two kinds of ground fault circuit breaker one is manually controled and another is automatic. As alternating current (AC) lapses through zero twice in a series thus, It is uncomplicated for a circuit breaker to interrupt it.

Working specifications for ground fault circuit breaker are:

1. There are times when required ground fault circuit breaker is requested upon to initiate in circumstances of a short circuit on the charge, required it to interrupt a current that consumes longer time than the usual normal load of current.

2. There are times that it is forced to join on to a short-circuited system for it to confirm that an error be present.

The circuit breaker usually works under unusual situations. However, the circuit breaker should have to be consistent under static situations of usual load, but it must react very regularly when necessary to execute some action.

In the majority of the ite circuit breaker when replace contacts are not closed an electrical arc is produced in the medium connecting the contacts due to electric field. The medium that links the contacts is usually air, although it can also be oil, a gas during high pressure, or it might be a vacuum. These arcing cause several damage in circuit breaker therefore to avoid damage due to the reason of arcing, a minor series is held jointly with the primary set which begins functioning as soon as the major set is closed, it constantly stays under pressure as the major series; and an arc chute is applied to extend and reduce the arc, which is cover of insulated parallel metal plates.

To keep the switch closed under high mechanical pressure a mechanical collection of handles acts as a latch, and to discharge it a sensitive trigger is utilized which is manipulated mechanically or electrically. Electrical functions possibly administerred by an electromagnet, by way of either the electrical signal gained from the network itself, or some other insert current, to stumble the trigger. In this system the switch be able to continue as a surplus trip.

In contrast, the ite circuit breaker can be allowed to spend a small portion of other electrical quantity, like unevenness in current along with the load links, which may be harmonious to escape of current to earth. In some cases the circuit-breaker also works as remaining current device, then the ite circuit breaker can give shield in opposition to dangerous electric shock. Miniature circuit-breakers and RCDs have primarily take the place of fuses and common isolating switches in domestic consumer units since they are much more accurate and dependable.
